The Doe Fund is a leading New York City non-profit organization that operates the enormously popular and highly visible Ready, Willing amp; Able program, whose participants clean over 160 miles of streets and sidewalks every day. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Benefits amp; HRIS Specialist will be responsible for contributing to a four member Human Resources team. The position is based out of the 345 East 102nd Street location.
Process new enrollments and oversee changes, additions, and terminations
Oversee that all enrollment materials are current and up to date
Work on Benefit Enhancement projects up to and including wellness seminars, health fairs, etc.
Putting together employee benefit communication flyers, emails, etc.
Carrier open enrollment process (medical, dental, vision, etc.)
Responsible for all communication between all carriers and The Doe Fund
Update employee benefits deductions for all carriers
Oversee, Track, and Review all carrier utilization and experience reports for Commuter, Delta, EBCBS, FSA, Vision, AIG, etc.
Complete and sign all wage and Health Benefits requests from the Courts
Ensure that carrier payments are on time and paid in full; work with Finance to ensure payments go out on a timely basis
Administer benefit programs including Leaves of Absences and Family Medical Leaves for all employees
Processes FMLA, short term disability and long term disability claims as required; ensure all applicable policies are followed in process; Work with employee on completing paperwork; coordinate data entry of LOA information into ADP
Prepare New Hire Benefit Folders received from payroll; file all pertinent benefit information
Assist employees with Benefit issues in person, over the phone and via email i.e. claims, provider issues, carrier issues, setting up appointments
Communicate with outside agencies and health providers regarding benefits related issues
Work with Carrier to process claims on a timely and accurate basis
Track, maintain, and communicate information on employees including monthly disability status reports or as needed
Work collaboratively with other TDF departments to provide employee demographic information for fundraising, grants, etc.
Input new employees benefits enrollments and make necessary changes in ADP and carrier portals as needed
Create and maintain organizational charts and Executive Committee reports on a biweekly basis utilizing Power Point and Excel.
Ad hoc reporting
Creating and/or pulling ADP reports for HR team and other key staff upon request
Perform other administrative duties, such as filing, etc., as assigned or requested
Minimum 1-2 year benefits experience
High School Graduate or equivalent minimum, college experience or degree desired
Must be able to work with all levels of staff
Acute attention to detail
Ability to organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
Professional manner in person and on the telephone.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills including the ability to listen well and communicate clearly.
Time management skills to effectively prioritize and complete tasks to meet deadlines
Must be self-motivated, pro-active, and able to work independently
Ability to work as a team member with various groups of individuals including all levels of management.
Proficiency of Gmail, Word, Power Point, amp; Excel
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Some knowledge of ADP Workforce Now system preferred, but not required
Willingness to collaborate and achieve results in cooperation with others
A strong interest in The Doe Funds mission
